A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

“I never wanted a kitchen full of things. I wanted one that worked.”

My name is Elias. I am Amish, and our home is in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The kitchen is where Esther and I have spent a good part of our life. A pot simmering while someone comes through the door. Flour on the table when the bread is not quite ready. A meal that has to stretch when there is one more place to set.

And over the years I have noticed something: a family does not need to cook fancy food to eat well. But it helps an awful lot to understand what is happening in the pot, what is hiding in the pantry, and why a little planning on Monday makes Friday easier.

That is why these two books belong together. The handbook is what I would want you to know. The cookbook is what I would want you to make. The older farmhouse ways are there, but so are the everyday meals American families actually cook.

TAKE A LOOK INSIDE

One kitchen. Two books.

The handbook is the reference you come back to. The cookbook is the page you lay beside the stove. Both are written to help you cook with more confidence and less waste.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Before you order.

A book ought to tell you plainly what it is, and what it is not.

Which bundle should I choose? +

Start with both Kitchen books for $49 if you mainly want practical skills and 180 recipes. For $20 more, the $69 three-book collection includes The Amish Method and 93 household methods. The $89 Premium four-book collection also adds The Garden Book.

What is the difference between Volume I and Volume II? +

Volume I is the kitchen handbook: how to organize a working kitchen, choose ingredients, cook well, understand techniques and preserve food thoughtfully. Volume II is the practical cookbook: 180 separate recipes organized into 12 chapters. They complement each other rather than repeat the same material.

Are these only traditional Amish recipes? +

No. Volume II is designed as approximately 40% Amish/Pennsylvania Dutch heritage and heritage-inspired food, with around 60% familiar everyday American cooking. Volume I also explains kitchen skills and food traditions more broadly, always anchored in a practical farmhouse point of view.

Is this useful if I am a beginner? +

Yes. The handbook builds from kitchen basics to more advanced judgment. The cookbook organizes recipes by the kind of meal you want to make. Both aim to be useful with ordinary equipment.

Do the books cover storage and food safety? +

Yes. Food storage, temperature awareness and preservation are part of the manuscripts. Technical safety and preservation instructions must complete editorial verification before release; follow current official food-safety guidance in your own cooking.

Will the recipes include photographs? +

Illustrations and photography are part of the planned finished editions. The books are currently text manuscripts, with image positions reserved. The preview does not claim that the photography is finished.

How will I receive the books? +

The planned products are digital PDF ebooks for phones, tablets and computers. Instant delivery will be available only when the final files and checkout integration have been completed.

What is the free pantry checklist? +

A proposed printable companion to the bundle, showing practical staples, substitutions, storage reminders and a planning sheet. It is a design concept at this stage, not an existing delivered bonus.

Is there a refund guarantee? +

The return policy has not been finalized for this new collection. The live website should display the approved terms clearly before any customer is asked to pay.
